Notice on Certification and Licensure for Spiritual Life Coaches

At To Be Heard Ministry, we prioritize your privacy and the integrity of our services. It is important to inform you that Spiritual Life Coaches are not governed or required to hold certification or licensure with the state or any association. Certification and memberships are entirely optional.

Our Current Stance:

• No Certifications or Memberships: To Be Heard Ministry does not hold any certifications regarding coaching and is not a member of any local or national associations. We have chosen this option to maintain a low overhead and to ensure that your privacy remains protected.

Legal Considerations:

• Florida Statute: Under Florida law, ministries are afforded broad protections under the First Amendment and state statutes, allowing them to operate independently and without mandatory licensure for spiritual or pastoral counseling that does not include clinical mental health services. (Florida Statutes, Chapter 761, Religious Freedom Restoration Act).

• Federal Law: At the federal level, ministries are also protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, which guarantees the free exercise of religion and prohibits government interference in religious practices, including counseling and spiritual guidance provided by ministries.

Autonomy and Choice: Ministries, including spiritual and life coaching practices conducted by ministries, operate with a degree of autonomy under these legal protections. This enables practitioners to provide spiritual guidance and support tailored to individual client needs without the regulatory burdens associated with licensure or certification requirements.

Commitment to Compliance: We are committed to adhering to all applicable laws and regulations. Should there be any changes in state or federal law affecting ministries or requiring certification, licensure, or memberships for spiritual and life coaches, we will:

• Pause Sessions: Immediately pause all sessions.

• Obtain Required Credentials: Obtain the necessary certifications, licensures, and/or memberships as mandated.

• Resume Services: Resume services once compliance with the new legal requirements is achieved.
